02 Challenge

How can we showcase Finland and its leading companies in a compelling way while helping Finland stand out from the crowd?

03 Strategy

Flatlight was in charge of writing the exhibition story at Finland Pavilion. We wanted to convey our great country brand while also including the messaging of the attending companies, which come from a variety of industries.

Finland has been selected as the happiest country in the world year after year. So we used that insight when designing the main theme for the exhibition.

Everything was tied together under one theme: Sharing Future Happiness

04 Creative Solution

When the theme was set, Flatlight joined forces with Futudesign, Sun Effects and JKMM Architects to create the exhibition design around it. The main design element was a curved panoramic display that spanned around the exhibition area. We set out to create a looping panoramic film that communicated the main theme. As the film was looping, the entire exhibition space was in sync with the ceiling light installation and a multichannel soundscape.

05 Implementation

Panoramic film
We scripted and produced the looping film that uses a Finnish woman to portray the main theme.

Graphic design elements
We created the visual identity for the exhibition. It spanned the exhibition, from neon lettering to partner booths and beyond.

UI design
We created a touch display interface for partner content navigation, maintaining the right mood and feel to support the overall exhibition experience.
